I have 8  450GB disks, and ctreate a Raid5 CPG. its 

free space is almost 2000GB . But when i create a vv, i only can make less than 500GB. why?

Without any other information, one possibility is because you are making it fully provisioned.
I'm guessing you made another volume recently, decided it was the wrong size and deleted it. Now the system is reinitializing all of the chunklets of the deleted volume.
Once they are reinitialized, you will be able to use the space from the deleted volume.

Yes,that's it. i deleted a vv just before. 1 hour later, i can make it successfully. thanks a lot.
