Re: new disk compatibility
As mentioned by @Torsten. the model has to appear in the output of showfirmwaredb.

Re: new disk compatibility
Hi
I found new disk Dev_Id mentioned in list "showfirmwaredb" , but with Cage_type: DC4, the current Cage_type: DC3, so is that will cause issue, or it will work smoothly;
Thanks

Re: new disk compatibility
Lookup the spare partno of the failed drive at partsurfer.hpe.com.
Example:
697389-001
result
900GB SAS hard drive - 10,000 RPM, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF), 6Gb/s transfer rate, 3PAR drive model HCBRE0900GBAS10K - Preferred spare part is 840457-001, ensure minimum OS is met - See advisory a00025786en_us - For use with 3PAR StoreServ 7000
So 697389-001 was meanwhile replaced by 840457-001, this drive is compatible with 3PAR7000 and needs the following OS:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
