A question about nPar

Hi all
I have setup an rp7410 system with two cells installed in it and configured cell 1 as genesis nPar and installed 11iv1 system on it.
Then I want to add cell 0 to the Partition and I issued the command below:

Error: There are incompatible cells:
Global cell 0, cabinet 0, cell 0 - IODC version 24128 PDC major 17
Current IODC hversion is 24128 and PDC major number is 16.
**************************************
So what can I do now
Can you tell me in detail?

Hi,

sounds like your cells have different firmware versions on it.
Logon to the MP and run

MP:CM> sysrev

to confirm.
Contact HP to get the firmware updated.

I'm sorry. I didn't make it clearly
I issued the command below:

parmodify -p0 -a0:base:y:ri

and I got the following errors:

The answer is still the same!

Cell 1 is your currentr cell, so read the message as follows:
cell 0 - IODC version 24128 PDC major 17
cell 1 - IODC hversion24128 PDC major 16

You need to have them at the same PDC level

If you run the "sysrev" command (and you should do that), you will see 2 lines like this:

CELL 0 : 2.002 1.000 1.001 2.004 17.009

The last column is the PDC version.
All values in one column have to be the same.

But make sure you read the documentation carefully and follow step by step!
Otherwise you may easy and seriously damage your system.

You should eb able to get it from the ITRC.

The major version number of the PDC firmware is different in cell 0 vs. cell 1. Apparently a different minor version number (16.xxx vs 16.yyy) might be acceptable, but a different major version (16.xxx vs 17.yyy) definitely isn't.

You would have to either upgrade the cell 1 or downgrade the cell 0. I'd recommend upgrading instead of downgrading unless there are specific reasons to do otherwise.

If you are not familiar with firmware upgrades on cell-structured servers, I'd recommend you open a support case and let HP engineer do it. A failed firmware upgrade can cause serious problems.

If you want to do it yourself, the instructions are within the firmware package, in the ReleaseNotes.pdf file. Read *all* the instructions and make sure you understand everything before starting the upgrade.
