I did the following to activate the second processor on the rp3410:
I went into the BCH, under co did cpu 1 on, did a reset, system came up, on root prompt tried to use icod_modify command. Yet, system states icod is not supported on this class of system
Does anyone know, what I need to use to activate processor on the rp3410?
Thanks Barbara

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
Go through this guide, http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12036_div/12036_div.PDF
It says, One PA 8800 800 MHz processor with 32 MB Level 2 cache: One core is activated on a two core PA 8800 800 MHz processor module; a second core is activated by ordering optional part number A9770A. Or one PA 8900 800 MHz processor with 64 MB Level 2 cache: One core is
activated on a two corel PA 8900 800 MHz processor module; a second core is activated by
ordering optional part number A9770A.

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
I would suggest you to log a case with HP for activating icod cpu.

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
You need to have ordered the server with the additional cpu license, not an ICAP (used to be known as ICOD) license

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
You can purchase a licence to activate the second. Contact HP for this. Once you got the licence key, go to the service menu in the boot console handler, type "upgrade" and input your licence key.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
in the service menu of the BCH, one can not enter upgrade, there is only a ProdictNum option - is that what I need?
Thanks Barbara

Re: activate second processor on rp3410
Just type the command, even it is not listed in the menu.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
