Cable for connecting HP 9000 G50 server to 700/96 Console

Good Morning,

I have a HP 9000 G50 server & 700/96 Console.

1. Does anybody know what cable is use to connect the MUX port of A1703-60022 Multi-Function I/O Card to the Console ?

2. Does the following cable correct ?

Cable of 8 RS-232 Modem direct connect ports on the MUX Multi-Function I/O card Includes Console and Modem Port

hi,

you can get the part numbers for the cable a nd mux panels here

you need a cable from the 78pin connector on the mux/personality card to an 8 port panel and then a cable from the panel to the console

you could get a cable with 8 ports to 1 panel or a Y cable to two panels, depending upon your needs as far as I remember.

then I think it was a 40242G/M cable to the console

Thanks for your information. I think I get some idea now.

May I Know :-

1. Does HP G50 Server similar to HP E class when connecting to Console which require Active Distribution Panel ( ADP ) & Console Terminal Data Cable ?

2. Does my following solution correct ?

We use cable 5062-3074 or A1703-63009 connect to A1703-60022 Multi-Function I/O Card. And use MDP connector of 5062-3074 or A1703-63009 cable connect to Active Distribution Panel ( ADP ). Finally use a Console Terminal Data Cable connect to Console.

hi,

yes they are very similar to the E series servers, and share some common parts including the muliti function io cards

sounds about right for what i remember of these older boxes

mux card/port in server to panel with cable and cable from mux panel to console

just remember the system console is always on port 0 of the adp panel that connects to the local terminal 700/92 or similar
