i have a server RP4440 with HP-UX B11.11. I would like to configure the console in order to access the server from the same LAN. Would you have the procedure for doing it?
Regards,
Christian Aguilar

Solutionselect CM
select LC ( lan config)
If you are wishing to assign static IP then turn off DHCP, same menu, and assign IP and GW addresses.
I would recommend a segregated secure LAN segment for console access.
Other options: shh is available, maybe turn off html. Make sure to change your default Admin password way to easy for someone to hack this IP and then have full power control over your server, especially if you are not using a secure LAN segment.
( almost forgot, cable up the lan port :)

Re: Configure console for server RP4440
Now you are help mode ie, MP:HE. First you can come out from there by pressing Q (quit) then select command mode (type CM).
Here you type LC command it will take you to Lan configuration prompt. Here it will show the current configuration of customer Lan and Privat Lan.Select customer Lan (first one) and modify the IP address and Netmask and gataway.Hope this will help you.

Re: Configure console for server RP4440
select CM
at CM> prompt select LC
The lan config is a prompt driven selection. Just answer the questions after selection of the config option. Really easy.

Re: Configure console for server RP4440
One thing to remmember is to disable dhcp. If dhcp is enable you will not be able to configure the IP MP/GSP port. Use the commands "LC" and 'LS" to achive this.
