Re: Consolidation recommendation
An rp7420 vPar recipe:
2 Cell Boards - 6 cpu sockets (12 CPUS)
32 GB of memory
For OS boot - if you've an EVA and a SAN - you can simply boot off of it. Otherwise, you'll need to get a SCSI enclosure (ie. a DS21xx):
For OS boot, HBAs/NICS and depending on your Storage you've the following options:
Dual 2G FC + LAN Card
Combo 2G FC + 1 G Ether
Combo Ether + SCSI
Suggestions for vPar:
vPar1 (K580/6cpu/3.5G RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
vPar2 (K580/4cpu/4GB RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
vPar3 (K580/6cpu/4GB RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
vPar4 (K580/6cpu/4GB RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
vPar5 (K580/6cpu/4GB RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
vPar6 (K580/6cpu/4GB RAM) - 2 CPUs+4GB+HBAs
