If you change the box, you will have another SW ID (used for licence purposes), but a valid one.

hi Torsten,

is the 10 digits are the software id ur talking about when i run the uname -a as below
B.11.00 U 9000/800 1279364181 unlimited-user license

but if i were to change the motherboard what will the effect be to the numbers? changed/nothing?

The ID (in your case 1279364181 ) is based on the product and serial number. If the serial number is changed, the ID will change too. YOU can't change it back, only HP can do this.

hi torsten,

one more thing,if i would take away the internal disks from the old n class which has the customers current OS confguration in it and put in into the rp7400,will it boot up as normal?
