Oh something I forgot to mention. Try populating just slots 1A/B to see if it will work.

Sheryl,
The A008 is only a warning that there are no devices to boot from. if your memory was bad, you would recieve an error beginning with 7.
Make sure that the disks are seated properly.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to send out a thank you to all that replied to me. All your direction has helped me to stop and think...and now I have my HPUX recognizing all components in the system. I'm currently installing the O/S right now, and it's moving along fine.
