date problem

after i executed the reboot command, the system date will be initialed. it returns to the default value, 1977.
what's the problem?

Hi Liangshien,
If you are using HP 9000 series machine then try to change date in GSP or MP (Management Processor).

hi,

if it always defaults to that even when changed then the coin cell battery is dead and needs replacing.

on all the system boards there is a 3v coin cell battery. check the voltage on this and replace
