DLT DRIVE NOT SENSING IN 10.X

Hello Experts
I am using D370 Model server with 10.x on that server DLT Drive is not sensing but in pdc prompt it get sensing. But in os level its not sensing.In 10.x DLT Driver automatically get load or what . otherwise any patch is there for 10.x to detect the DLT Drive Pls help me to sort out the problem......

Depending on your controller you need to include the correct driver in the kernel. Most likly this is the "stape" driver. Go to SAM, drivers and include. Rebuild the kernel and reboot.

Just to set your expectations correctly, there are several models of DLT drives and some of these did not exist when HP dropped all support for 10.xx. If you are using something prior to 10.20 (which was obsolete in 2001), the driver may have never been updated to support a DLT. The PDC prompt is simply using SCSI ID to 'see' the tape, but HP-UX needs a full driver to support the drive. Use ioscan to find the drive and driver in HP-UX:

ioscan -fnC tape

The words UNKNOWN or NO DRVR indicate lack of support for the drive.
