EOL: rp54xx series

Hi
Any idea when will HP EOL the rp54xx series servers? I don't want to purchase a server that is coming to its EOL. I basically need a very reliable server but I do not need good expansion capability. I am considering the rp3410 servers as they are cheaper but as reliable

Re: EOL: rp54xx series

Define EOL. Do you mean end of production, or the projected minimum end of support date. Different rp54xx servers will have a different date for the projected minimum end of support. This date for minimum end of support is almost always 5 or more years after the end of production. The rp5450 and rp5400 are already out of production. The rp5430 and rp5470 should go out of production in February 2005, so there support life should be until around 2010. If you can run HP-UX 11i then the new rp3440 and rp4440 are much better options. If you have to run HP-UX 11.0, then you are limited to the rp54x0 with a maximum of 750MHz processors.
