GSP Administrator

[UNIX Admin Group_1]

When logging into GSP, we come in as Operator. I see nothing to change to Adminstrator. In Operator, there is no "SO", so we can not add users. How do we change to Adminstrator?

You have to log on as administrator - you cannot switch to it.

The default administrator id is Admin

There is a default password as well.

Thanks. It was 'stupidity' on our part. We kept using the wrong password.

And if you don't know what the default password is, you can not DC to switch all beck to default. How do you get around this?

I beleive you can reset the GSP without resetting the entire system (a reset button on the GSP). That will reset the Admin password back to Admin.

The default login is "Admin/Admin".

You can restore the defaults in different ways. What system we're talking about?

If at all you have a problem with GSP password u can reset with a command as follows.

stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1

This will not require a system reboot .

The "stty +resetGSP
You must have access to the "local" console when you perform the reset as above. Remote access (modem or network) won't allow this.
While the GSP is resetting, a text like "press to reset the GSP passwords" is displayed on the local console. If you press the indicated key at that point, all the GSP usernames and passwords are reset to factory defaults.

We dont need console access for resetting the GSP. Can be done from an SSH session.

I have done it 3 days back, when I had a problem in accessing the LAN console.

Hi, dispite the answer you can reset the GSP from remote. This is not so if you want to reset to default settings.
This means you must go to the gsp and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. After this you can login with Admin/Admin and make your console acceble from remote.
