Hi,

If you mean lan console, so you have to connect with either HP dumb terminal to the console port or with a PC using hyperterm, reflection or procomm, connecting com port to the console port of rp.
Pressing ctrl-B you you get MP prompt
The default user/password is Admin/Admin (case sensitive)
Choose from the menu cm and from the next menu lc. Answer on the question and connect management port rj45 to the network.

You have a label at the front, next to your disks. Here you find the mac adress.

You can give it an ip adress with arp

You can change these settings afterwards with

telnet ip
login

The MP is using DHCP by default nowadays. Have a look into your system documentation for the name, something like mp08xxxxxxxx.

You can telnet to this name , login with Admin/Admin and configure the MP.

Hope this helps!

The MP is using DHCP by default nowadays.

The name is mp+MAC_address, e.g.

mp00123456789a

Connect with telnet using this name, logon with Admin/Admin and configure.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Hi,

If it is a new card, you may have to connect to the serial port first,

using 9600-8-N-1 settings and

configure IP address and other network config for the MP, using MP>CM>LC
