How to determine if console port is faulty
Hi all...HP9000-K running 10.2. I seemed to have lost my console port. I've replaced cables, as well as the monitor, but it still does not work. I suspect a bad console port. Can someone give me a command that can check the console port, and report if it is actually working or not?
Thanks,

Re: How to determine if console port is faulty
On your K-class server, turn the front panel key all the way to the right to enable access to the processor ROMs. Then typing CTRL-K should give you a CM prompt. This will verify the port...all of this assumes that your console device (terminal or PC) is correctly configured (9600, 8N1) and you are using a printer cable (also called a null modem cable). Nothing will work if you use a modem or straight-thru cable. And all of this assumes you are not using a special video interface card as your console, butg are plugged into the RS-232 console port.
