Hi all,

I had a rx5405 which connect with DS2300. The DS2300 can store 14 hard disks and currently only had 8 hard disks. How to do the mirror on DS2300? Please advice.

Have you heard of HP MirrorUX? Take note that this product is not free.

find out more from this link:

Re: How to do mirror on External Storage-DS2300 ?

Hi Jospeh,

I know how to do the mirror ux on OS mirror. How about the external storage DS2300? Is same as the OS mirror. The situation is I had 8 disks in DS2300. i want use 4 hard disks to mirror another 4 hard disks.

to create a logical group with 4 physcial disks
#pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/C0t2d0 /dev/rdsk/C1t2d0 /dev/rdsk/C3t2d0 /dev/rdsk/C4t2d0

and use vgextend command to create the volume group?

Once completed, I create the file system and mount the file system and new volume group.

After use lvextend to mirror another 4 hard disks ?

Best regards
Leon

Hi

this thread will give you a very detailed way to do this. you can find lots more threads by typing "mirror disk" in the search box at the top of the web page.

read those post where 10 pts are given in this thread:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=523529

and also this doc, Document id: KBRC00012000, from HP:

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000072951457

by the way, u will actually get more solutions for your query if you have send it to the HP-UX category.
