HP 3000 remote connection with Reflections
I use flections to connect to company next work running on a third party HP 3000. I use a cable modem and connect through my PC with Reflections. I have been using reflections for about 3 months with no problems connecting and a couple of weeks ago the host would not allow a connection.
I discovered that I can connect if I use a dial up connection.
I have talked to host administrator , IP tech support and PC support but no one can help solve this connection problem.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Dave

Re: HP 3000 remote connection with Reflections
Where is this modem you are connecting to? Off the back of the HP3000? If so, then you need to go to the console and do a UR to unlock remote.
If it is not off the back of the HP3000 then where are you dialing into? Have you any non-standard Reflection settings? Etc., yada, yada.

Re: HP 3000 remote connection with Reflections
If I understood you correctly the internet connection was working correctly and then quit working. In that case I would suspect that someone tightened or changed security either on their firewall or on the HP3000.

Re: HP 3000 remote connection with Reflections
David Hi,
Has anything changed in the DNS table for this HP3000? We use Reflections a lot I have found when it cannot resolve the name the IP address ususally works. This may or may not be the problem. But without knowing the exact error you are getting this would be my guess since you were getting connected before.
Hope this helps
DKD
