HP 9000 / L2000 Failure

I’m getting following error messages on L2000. Server getting down in few minutes and when I increased the of speed of fans from the firmware it was running for several hours and got down.

You appear to have a hardware problem, looks like a fan failure.
Log a call with your local HP Response Centre

Dear Chanka,

Looking at the error message and the prolem, It would be due to the failure/problem with the cabinet blowers.

Please inform the HP support and get the faulty cabinet blower replaced.

hi,

fan number 4 has failed in the server, and will need replacing.

this is located on the right of the server looking from the front. You will need to extend it from the rack and remove the side cover. From here you will see 4 fans together behind the scsi disks and one of these will have an amber LED indicating failure.
Also check the error logs in the GSP to make sure its just the one fan.
