HP E45 console connects with Mux
Hi Folks,
I have a HP E45 server with MDP mux. I connected it with a HP console before.
Now, this E45 loses any connection with console. I tried to reset the config keys. None of them works. I tried shift key with B, D and reset keys. Restarting the console with pressing the shift key and b key would help.
Any clues?

Re: HP E45 console connects with Mux
To reset the HP terminal, turn off the terminal, then while holding the D key down, tun the power back on and release the D key when you see the reset message.

Re: HP E45 console connects with Mux
Tried 3 times, but no luck.
The power light is not turned on. There is no light on the mux port at the back of E server.

Re: HP E45 console connects with Mux
Hi
*) If u connect that terminal in different port whether r u getting login prompt???, If u get login prompt, then there is no need to change settings on the terminal.
*) Are u able to connect thru' telent?? Then ur server is up...
+) If u r able to connect, then see in /etc/inittab for /dev/console -> getty entry and also /etc/gettydefs .
-) If possible could u able to give inittab & gettydefs
*) There are some chances that Baud/cable/device faulty.
