HP R390 server availability and cost
I am doing a server move project from East coast to West Coast in the US. There are
3-R390 servers with Auto-Raid attached. I am also exploring the possibility of buying
HP R-class 390 servers so that I can avoid a move. I have a couple of questions.
1) Do the R390 class server have sufficient processing power to run Oracle 11i (we are on 11.03).
2) I understand that R390 is eol. Any suggestions on where I can buy them. I live in Santa Clara, CA and would prefer someone local.
Thx for your time.

Re: HP R390 server availability and cost
2) Ebay. $300 will buy you a D380/390 type box which are very similar.
I've seen servers for sale on ebay in the Santa Clara metro area calendar.

Re: HP R390 server availability and cost
For an entry level machine, I'd look at a used rp24xx with lots of RAM.
If you want something a little larger look at the rp54xx machines.
Either of those can be found used relatively cheap.
