Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
Assuming it has a cd-rom, insert a core OS cd-rom in the cd-rom drive.
boot the box from the console.
interupt at the 10 second prompt
sea
Try and guess which item is the cd-rom(usually the last)
if the cd-rom is P4 then
boot p4
N On Interact.
You may get a choice or go direct into the Ignite install interface. When you get there, tallyho, install away.

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
you might be able to get 10.20 to run on one of these systems, but 11.x certainly isn't.

Have not found a manual. Best bet would be to check with refurbishers that are still selling them on the net.

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
847S, H-class, I-class
While the 837s was upgradable to G-class
I assume that they are similar to the Nova systems. I have worked with a couple of the Novas before, as have many on these forums, If you tell us exactly what you're trying to find out, perhaps we can help you.

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
do you have a MUX panel for the server? you will need to connect a MUX panel to the server VIA proprietary cable. then connect the terminal or serial port to port '0' on the MUX panel.
The serial connection should be set to:
8 data bits
1 stop bit
no parity
flow control off
9600 baud
power it up and see what you see.

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
this is for the 827s, but i'm pretty sure the 837s is very similar.
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main?sel_flg=partlist&model=9000%2F827S&HP_model=&modname=Computer+9000%2F827S&template=secondary&plist_sval=ALL&plist_styp=flag&dealer_id=&callingsite=&keysel=X&catsel=X&ptypsel=X&strsrch=
The cable that goes in the Core I/O card is the 5062-3074. This connects to a 5062-3054 panel, and the console (terminal or PC) connects to port '0' as I had mentioned.

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
I can see that 827 is H20 and F30.
You can connect a console and install HP-UX 10.20.
You can refer

Re: Hp9000 827s/837s
I have connected the ADPII to the MUX port.
The console is connected to ADP with serial cable to port 0.
The ADP has 2 led (twice on) one green (for power) and another one for link, but the cursor is blinking on top of the screen .
I have already reset the console (ctrl D) without result.
What I can do now (????)
Thanks in advance
Lorenzo
