Re: HP9000 End of Support Life

The E55 is VERY old in computer technology so replacing it will not be simple. All new machines such as the L-class or rp2400 series are 64bit only and will not run anything earlier than HP-UX 11.00, some newer ones only run 11.11. This means that a replacement machine will be a matter of HP-UX compatibility with your current applications. The rp-2405 is MUCH smaller than your E55 but very much faster and much cheaper than the E55's original retail price. The L and rp series will be supported for a long time (many years).

If you cannot upgrade your applications and/or HP-UX to 11.00 or 11.11, then your options are limited to obsolete systems such as the D-class or K-class, which will be unsupported in a few years.

Re: HP9000 End of Support Life

hai,
HP E 35/45/55 are almost retired machines. The main criteria is that if it is still mission critical one, it will be very riscy as the spares avilablity is very rare.
