Re: HP9000/L2000 server getting down

Hi,

your logs are mixed with the logon message due to wrong TERM settings.

Logon to the GSP and run "PS" to check your fan status.

You should see something like this

Power supplies | Fan
# State Type | States
-----------------------------------------------------------
0 Normal Type 0 | Normal
1 Normal Type 0 | Normal
2 Not Installed - | Normal
3 - - | Normal
4 - - | Normal
5 - - | Normal
6 - - | Normal
7 - - | Normal

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP9000/L2000 server getting down

The fan may be working but it may not be maintaining appropriate RPM's to have appropriate airflow through the system. You should replace the fan that the machine is saying is bad.

Re: HP9000/L2000 server getting down

Most of the time it's not a problem with the fans, it's due to a issue with the L2000 platform monitor,

switch the fans with other slots and check whether the issue is due to a fan failure.
