K-class and SC10

a quick one,

is it possible to connect SC10 to K-class (K460 i think)? Any scsi compatibility issues?

Re: K-class and SC10

this combination is an only issue.

The K-class has HVD (fast wide) SCSI HBAs (totally incompatible)

or

SE-SCSI, compatible, but much too slow.

The SC10 is ultra 2 scsi.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: K-class and SC10

so what you're saying is that the only option is to connect it to SE bus?

how about using HVD10 instead? is it HVD or LVD?

Re: K-class and SC10

The main difference between the SC10 and the HVD10 are the BCCs (bus controller cards) - the HVD10 is - let me guess - HVD!

The HVD10 works with the FW differential HBAs, because the BCC is converting the JBODs internal busses from LVD to external HVD.

Hope this helps!

Re: K-class and SC10

You are right, no LVD adapters for the K.

How about HVD BCCs or even external bus converters from the used market?

IMHO your only workaround.

Hope this helps!

Re: K-class and SC10

sounds feasible, i should be able to get two HVD10 BCCs for a fair price and reuse the enclosures i have
