K420 internal disk failed
I have a K420 system with a failed internal disk. Do I have to shutdown the system to replace the internal disk?
I also have D class servers but their internal disk is hot swappable

Re: K420 internal disk failed
you'll need to power off the K420 to replace the internal disk. And you'll need some screwdrivers too, sorry no hotplugging here.
BTW not all D-class servers have hot swapable interen disks.
regards,
Thierry Poels.

Re: K420 internal disk failed

Re: K420 internal disk failed
Hot swap - just swap the mechs, no commands required.
Hot plug - some commands required, perhaps both before and after.
Bascially, hotplug means it is electrically safe, but not much more.
