Kclass Fault

Getting a Kclass fault (hardware) during boot. Hangs during the hardware scan, before the boot loader. On the LED I get.

FLT 12bF

FLT 7500
MEMORY

The system is unsupported. The power up stops, and the above messages flah on the LED. Switching back and forth from message 1 to message 2.

Re: Kclass Fault

Hi,

FLT 12bf is not a listed code, but anything starting with 12 relates to a problem with cpu #2.

As correctly stated above 7500 is no memory found. Try reseating the DIMMs and memory carrier.

Re: Kclass Fault

Sigh....

1. Reset the memory carrier first. Try to reboot.
2. Reseat bank 0 on the memory carrier next. If bank 0 is not seated everything will appear to be missing. Try to reboot.
3. Biggest mem chips should go in lowest banks.
4. Chips come two to a bank. DO NOT MIX CHIPS WITHIN A BANK.
5. If it still won't boot, try one pair of chips at a time in bank 0 to discover which chips are bad.
