Re: KVM switch for rp2470
Certainly a low end model can be tested. If the cable connectors work then almost any brand should work.
For real functionality though you may be better off for certain console functions using a web console. The Secure Web console lets you connect TOC and do all kinds of nice things via a web browser.

Re: KVM switch for rp2470
The RP2470 doesn't have facilities for a standard PS2-style mouse and keyboard. You could put a video card in it, but I don't know what good this would do since you wouldn't also have mouse and/or keyboard.
The best bet for you would be to hook up the secure web console and use that. That'll let you use your browser (Netscape, IE, Mozilla, etc) for console access.
You can also use a PC running Hyperterminal to access the console. Dumb terminals are cheap, and you might want to get one of these as well.
But in any case, you don't need a KVM at all.

Re: KVM switch for rp2470
Secure Web Console or Chris' serial switch is the way to go here. If you want to use these boxes a a workstation you would need a windows X emulation. Then with a PC you could do applications and computing that mostly run on the rp boxes cpu.
