L2000 Autoreboot after installation of CPU Rev 3.1 an upgrading memories Event 4000
Dear All,
Appreciate your help on the below request.
Our client needed to upgrade the memory & CPUs of his L2000 servers .
L2000 contains initially CPU Vers 3.0.
The new CPU that he has ordered has a Vers 3.1
After installing the additionnal memories and CPU (vers 3.1), L2000 has auto-rebooted and GSP has generated the following log errors:
" Source 0= unknown
Source detail =unknown
Problem detail =no problem source id = FF
Caller activity 6 =machine check status 2
Reporting entity type = systeme firmware reporting entity id=00
Source 0= i/o
Source detail =system bus adapter source id = 0,1 et
......jusqu'a 7
Problem detail 3= function failure
Caller activity 6 =machine check status 3
Reporting identity type = systeme firmware "
Moreover please find below the Event Monitoring Service Event Notification
"Notification Time: Fri Feb 27 03:49:03 2004
ftmrun2 sent Event Monitor notification information:

Although the single bit errors are being corrected, it may be
advisable
to
monitor the situation. If an excessive rate of single bit errors
occur,
an
event with higher severity will be generated.

Re: L2000 Autoreboot after installation of CPU Rev 3.1 an upgrading memories Event 4000
Have you called HP to verify that a v3.0 and v3.1 CPU can be run together? If so, then either the memory on the new cpu or the firmware is bad and you need to swap them for new ones.

your cpu's must be at the same rev as far as I know, but you may also have memory that has a problem.
