Now, when I telnet to its ip address, the system open a connection, and I choose "CO" to go to console then I choose the partition no "0" then it display :
Connecting to Console:
(Use ^B to return to main menu.)

I try to do Contol^B but nothing move !!
when I disconnect and I connect again to the other partition everything is fine !

the first partition only hanging, how can I fixed this problem without booting the partition ?

Can anyone help me ?
thanks in advance

Re: LAN Console Hang

It seems to me that you have a hung console. The few times I've not been able to get to the console via GSP, I had to RS the system.

Can you get to the partition via telnet or direct console access?

What model system are you running on? 11.i I'm guessing.

Re: LAN Console Hang

forgot one thing. I got this when logging in via GSP on my superdome.

[Read-only - use ^Ecf to attach to console.]

^B is only for dropping back to the GSP... at least in my system anyway.

Re: LAN Console Hang

Hi,

Are you able to log in to the server as root.
Check the /dev/console device file. If not cf could help.

Re: LAN Console Hang

I had posted this problem 2 day ago, it was not shown in the forum for unknown reason and today I got notified that there are some Response to an HP IT resource center forums question !!!

Anyway the problem got solved in the same hour by reseting the GSP :
GSP:CM> xd

Non destructive tests:
1. Parameters checksum
2. Ping
Type R to reset the GSP or Q to quit the diagnostic menu.

Sorry it took so long for a response. Many folks including me are taking quite a bit of vacation this time of year. :(
