LEDs on HP 9000 rp3440

Hi,
I tried finding out, what the blinking system light LED means on my HP 9000 rp3440 server.
No manual, or forum was able to tell me.
Does anyone out there know what these LEDs mean?

Hi Barbara,

The blinking led means that there is network activity on your server.

For test (if possible)
Remove your lan cables and check the led

Hi,
the front pannel shows the following LEDs:
1 2 3 5 lan system

of course the lan is blinking green like crazy - network is running good

the 1 2 3 4 lights are not on

yet, the system LED is blinking orange

what does this mean?

hi,

the sytem led blinking orange indicates a problem of some sort with the system or configuration.

You can find out the problem by logging onto the MP and reading the logs. It may be informational if the config has changed or it could be a hardware error.

log onto MP

type sl to read logs
type e for error logs
type n to setup filter

once the logs have been read the led will also stop blinking orange.

You will have to read the last 5- 10 logs to try and make sense of it and clear the leds.

thanks for your help. I knew to look into the MP and forgot to do so. I was hoping there was a manual, too to descripe the LEDs

I have looked into MP / LS checked logs and cleared them.

glad its ok now, but keep an eye on it as you may find you do have a problem, if it keeps happening.
did you find anything in the logs? that would indicate why it happened?
