Mac address from the GSP

I've been looking for a way to find mac address' of my SAN cards from the GSP.
My servers boot from the SAN and have not other boot source so when I get a system in I'm left with trying to open the box and read it from the card or having the SAN storage guys parse it out when it starts up.

Can anyone confirm that I can't get it from the GSP?

You are talking about the WWN - world wide name - and as far as I know, there is know way to determine it from the gsp - as it requires an OS driver to see it.

fcmsutil once OS is up...you could always boot from CD/DVD - then find it out that way...

You can find it at back end of Card. All FC card are labeled WWN. It usually located above FC port

#fcmsutil /dev/tdx (x is the integer number in which it present for F/C adapter attack to server)

Can't do that from GSP(as far as I know). Gotta boot as noted by our colleagues and use fcmsutil.

Hi Travis

The label on the card's back. If the label is damaged or missing you can always look on the switch or SAN with the SAN guys' help. That at least is a soft look and you do not have to open machines. It will definitely get interisting in complex SAN's
