SolutionThe server should be able to boot and using another memory board, of course.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Memory and carrier removal
If you swap the memory board between 2 server than both will surely boot up. But not if you took the memory board.

Sandy

Re: Memory and carrier removal
Just make sure to have a valid memory configuration - see the install/upgrade manual from http://docs.hp.com .
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Memory and carrier removal
There is a single memory board. It comes in two models of 16 DIMMs or 32 DIMMs. These DIMMs are in pairs from memory. Hence removing them in pairs will be fine until the minimum memory pair.

Re: Memory and carrier removal
The server will definitely boot however I am not sure that your application processes would be able to start properly.
Maybe you will have to do some adjustments.
hope this helps too!
kind regards

Re: Memory and carrier removal
Maybe you can try to monitor the memory usage of the rp4440 server that you are going to remove the memory from for a week or 2. Paging activities can be a good indicator of insufficient memory during such activities. Commands like 'vmstat' and 'swapinfo -mat' are good to be used to monitor the memory usage.
