Modem access to MP

I'm need to setup a modem on our rp7410. There is a remote port on the MP card. My question are, if I hooked up a modem to that port, will the user have access to MP? Do I need to install a separate mux card for the modem in order to pervert MP access from modem users?

Re: Modem access to MP

Hi,

If you're using the GSP's remote port then it can be configured for session mode, meaning that it is just a serial port with a getty running on it for a normal login. You can (through the GSP) set the port so that it is only used for GSP access. So, if the port is in session mode the user cannot switch it to GSP mode.

If you were to use a separate mux card then it is purely a serial port and has no GSP access.

regards,

Darren.
Calm down. It's only ones and zeros...
