Monitor for HP 9000 D Class

Thanks to everyone who responded. I now know a lot more than I did.

I guess I wasn't very clear in my request, so here goes.

Can I connect a VGA moniter to an HP 9000 D Class system.

Again, many thanks to every who responded, your responses were of great assistance.

Re: Monitor for HP 9000 D Class

Hello,

The only monitors supported on D-Class systems are the A4330A and A4431A, which are 17" and 20" monitors respectively. However, these are for GRAPHICS CONSOLE purposes only.

You need to buy a graphics card to use these. A4077A is supported on D200, Dx10, Dx50 and Dx60, whereas the A4450A us supported on the Dx20, Dx30, Dx70, Dx80, D390 and R class systems. You can install it in any vacant HP-HSc slot, however, for the D350-D390 and R390, it is recommended to be installed in the HSC TURBO slot (hardware path 10/12).

You need to connect a keyboard off the PS/2 port on the MFIO card, path 8/16/7. You may connect a mouse, it is not mandatory.

Last, but most important, set PDC console path to reflect the graphics device adapter card address. You may need an ASCII terminal to do this (to see what you are doing!)

Re: Monitor for HP 9000 D Class

You cannot just connect a VGA monitor to the D class server. You need to have the supported Monitors and it's graphic cards. Check this site for D class server manuals:
