But the while the V2600 had up to 28 I/O slots, there were really only 6 PCI-2X buses that at best did about 240MB/sec if I remember correctly, so there was shared I/O. The aggregate I/O bandwidth was under 2GB/sec, while the rp4440 has aggregate I/O bandwidth of 4GB/sec. With the new combo cards, you can many I/O FC ports on the rp4440. But consider using "scsictl -m queue_depth" to increase the queue depth and the efficiency of I/O when connecting to the large external arrays that have large cache and deep queue depths. The default of 8 on HP-UX is much less that what is possible (256), but you have to understand what your array can handle and how many LUNs you will have per controller to optimize it.
