Since you didn't bother to identify your host computer model, it's a bit difficult to answer. Some firmware upgrades are done as bootable tapes and other are simply standard patch installations.

go to the MP and perform this:
MP:CM> sysrev
if your MP firmware is below 2.29 come back with the results - add. steps are needed!
