Hi, I have a HP rp7410 server running HP-UX 11i. I want to partition it into 2 using NPARS.
1. Is there any license for NPARS ?
2. Do i need to buy additional OS license for the 2nd partition ?
Please guide me ...
Thanks in Advace.

Solution
As far as I know there is no seperate licenses to be purchased for nPars . When you buy the hardware if its nPar capable you have purchased the required license already. You just need the nPartition provider NPar bundle installed on your system.

Re: OS License for NPARS
That is correct.
The OS and any ancillary software you purchase is for your entire server frame - no matter how many hard (nPar) or soft (vPar) partitions you carve out of it.
vPars are licensed per CPU though.
So if you are licensed for 16 cpus - you can have however many virtual partitions running on your nPar whose CPU total is 16.
