Patching ROM for 715/100

I want to upgrade to the latest ROM for a 715/100 and have located the file for this (PF_C7X50016). I FTP the file to the 715 and follow the instructions. However, I can not get the file to show the right sum value. Have tried to download it as BIN and ASCII in both cases the file shows 8945 1223 as the sum outcome. Is this file corrupt on the ftp site or what am I do wrong here. Getting ready to upgrade that system.

Hello Aldert,

You downloaded the file correctly, however, you need to 'unshar' the file before you 'sum' it. To unshar the file type:

sh PF_C7X50016.txt
(or whatever extension you have on that downloaded file).

Then, 'sum' the C7X50016.frm. The numbers
should now be correct.
