Question on rp3440 and its internal drives.

Got problem around the RP3440 servers and their internal drives. Some of the boxes have 73 GB Fujitsu drives (15K throughput, 8 MB cache) and others have 73 GB Seagate drives.

Even though both drives are the same configuration, the Seagate drives are 20% slower and this is impacting some of the financial business applications.

Anyone has any clues on why this is the case? Does it have to do with the speed of the disk drives? Thx in advance.

Could you post a diskinfo of one of the seagate disks?

# inscan -fnCdisk

There is a firmware update for your seagate drives, maybe this could help.

But also if the fujitsu drives are 15k and the seagate drives are 10k then you could see a slight difference in access times here.

If you compare the specs of the two products, the Fujitsu disk should be a bit faster.
