re help for adding harddisk on L3000 server
Hi Guys,
Can anyone advice if L3000 can support 146GB internal harddisk, and have I to upgrade the firmware in order to see the harddisk. Kindly advice??

Yes 4x146GB HDD (A7080A)
Not shure about the firmware but I would install the latest.

Hi Vincent,
146GB Ultra320 hard disk is not supported as internal drive if the controller used is Ultra2 on the backplane ( default configuration). Hence one can connect max. capacity upto 73GB Ultra2 LVD.
However, if you connect, it might operate at Ultra2 speed ( 80MB/s) instead of 320MB/s and assuming the Ultra2 controller would negotiate with the drive correctly to operate at 80MB/s throughout the operation.
But still it will be un-supported option.
In fact, this drive should be used with U320 SCSI controller (A7173A) on this server. With the latest firmware, boot support has been added for the A7137A.
