rp2470 stucks at evry boot
Hi,
I have rp2470 when rebooted or powered off & on it gets stuck at "Early Boot vfp- System Alert" and when acknowledged it stucks at I/O and in front panel fault led flashes(red). The only solution is to access GSP, acknowledge SL error logs and reset the system. After this system boots properly. Does anybody has the solution for this issue ?.
Regards,
Mahadev

Re: rp2470 stucks at evry boot
It sounds as if you may have a intermittent hardware problem. Next time it happens make a note of the message that comes on the console and the GSP error logs and open a call with HP.

Re: rp2470 stucks at evry boot
Hi Patrick,
Today this problem came again and it was diagnosed that RAID controller 4Si installed in rp2470 made external storage ds2100 offline. So rectified by accessing irm utility and made disks online. Now it is working fine. Thanks for your suggestion.
regds,
Mahadev

Hi Mahadev,
Can you copy the full error message of your system to this ITRC? It should help other people to understand the problem and possible action to resolve the problem. The system alert message would be something like below, I think.
************* SYSTEM ALERT **************
SYSTEM NAME: uninitialized
DATE: 11/01/2004 TIME: 20:35:14
ALERT LEVEL: 6 = Boot possible, pending failure - action required
REASON FOR ALERT
SOURCE: 8 = I/O
SOURCE DETAIL: 3 = local bus adapter SOURCE ID: FF
PROBLEM DETAIL: 6 = configuration error
LEDs: RUN ATTENTION FAULT REMOTE POWER
FLASH FLASH OFF ON ON
LED State: Running non-OS code. Non-critical error detected.
Check Chassis and Console Logs for error messages.

A: ack read of this entry - X: Disable all future alert messages
Anything else skip redisplay the log entry
