rp4440 fault LED

Hello,

We have a new rp4440 having this problem. On the MP it is stating:

Fatal System State detected. Check System Event log (SL) for error messages.

These are the errors we read.

There doesn't appear to be any hardware faults from MP logs, these are all alert 2 messages, which are informational only to my knowledge. System LED is flashing red. MP firmware is at E.02.26.

Any insights please?

Hi Vince,

you are right, the BMC messages are informational and outdated. It looks like the system did not log the cause of the current fatal system state in the event log.
Maybe you should look to the forward progress log. Are there selftests executed ?
Is a CPU found that could execute the selftests ?
Could you please try and attach the output of the MP commands (CM> mode)

had a similar stange issue with an rp3440 recently, it turned out that during transportation the power supplies had slackened just a little. Re-seating both resolved the issue. Also check the power cable connecters are seated firmly, you need to push them in with some force.

Hi Vince,

very strange, the ss shows that 4 CPUs (two PA8800 double core modules) are available.
The df output shows:

PRODUCT INFO:

This could point to a problem with the CPU Module #1, but it is only a guess. I think the best way to troubleshoot this is to call HP support and let a HP CE unmount one of the CPUs or create a minimal configuration.
A new firmware exists for this server (Patch PHSS_31161 3686K 20040803 RC s700_800 11.11 rp4440 PDC44.21;BMC2.37;MP E.02.29) but this is not your problem.
