rp5405

Taking over management of a rp5405 and the GSP management port has a password - I don't know. How do I reset it?

Re: rp5405

Hi Thomas,

I found this, hope it helps!

"With root login, the following HP-UX command can be used to reset the GSP on machines that do not have a GSP reset button.

stty +resetGSP

This functions the same as pressing the GSP reset button, response to query on the system console is required."

Re: rp5405

I believe this will just reset the GSP. I need to reset the admin password.

Re: rp5405

It looks like you have to reset the GSP in order to reset the Admin password.

Re: rp5405

It's pretty clear from the documentation that stty +resetGSP is the solution for PA systems without a reset button. However, when I issue the command at the console as root I get "This operation is not permitted."

Re: rp5405

Do you have a reset button? If you do, then hold the MP RESET button for longer than five seconds, it will clear the MP password and reset the LAN, RS-232 (serial port), and modem port parameters to their default values.

Re: rp5405

The rp5405 does not have a reset button.
