rp7410 not starting

Hello,

Our customer had an rp7410 server running HPUX 11i v1 ( cell 1 in partition 0).
After powering off/On the server , we are not able to get PDC/BCH menu.
The error logs (MP>CM>SL>Error log ) was showing :
"BOOT_CELL_WILL_HALT
MEM_HALT_CELL
MEM_PD_GET_TIME_FAILED"

I disconnected/reconnected the cell : same problem.

Please can someone help me.

Thanks and Regards

Roger

Re: rp7410 not starting

Shalom Roger,

Its a hardware failure.

Could be the cell.
Could be memory on the cell.
Could be a CPU problem on the cell, but the system would likely start if it were just CPU.

This situation is best handled by hp hardware support.

Re: rp7410 not starting

The partition is having problems with the memory page deallocation table. I would expect this to be a cell board hardware issue, however, you could try to bring the DIMM configuration down to a minimal configuration (4 DIMMs in slots 0a, 0b, 0c, and 0d).

Bob

Re: rp7410 not starting

Hi Robert,

I used only 4 x MEM DIMMs (OA 0B 0C 0D) and i am still facing the same problem.

Thanks and Regards
