Solaris 5.9 supported on HP Servers?

Hi guys

I know that this is a HP-UX forum, but I have a little question for this forum. Is S.O Solaris 5.9 suppported on HP Servers (rp5400 or rp5470)??. Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards
C.F

Re: Solaris 5.9 supported on HP Servers?

I would ask a solaris forum about solaris, but anyway - I'm sure it is not only not supported, but also not working.

I think it is only running on HP Proliant servers.

The only OS other than HP-UX that *may* run on your L-Class is probably Debian linux.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Solaris on HP9000 series servers? I don't think so. There is absolutely no way that is going to work. The only **supported** OS on the rp54xx series servers is HP-UX.

Hope this helps!

Re: Solaris 5.9 supported on HP Servers?

I guess if someone would have, mistakenly, said that Solaris IS supported on HP-UX then it would have gotten 10 points. That 10 point answer would have been wrong though!

PA-RISC hardware, not HP-UX.

What a bunch of pessimists. All you need to
do is download a (free) kit for Solaris on
PA-RISC. It should be in the list right
after Solaris on SPARC and Solaris on x64,
and Solaris on x86.

Check You Configuration - follow these 6 simple steps

1. Check that your system will run the Solaris OS.

Hmmm. Strange. I don't see PA-RISC.

Step 7. Buy a clue somewhere?

Re: Solaris 5.9 supported on HP Servers?

That's funny Torsten.

I've noticed in that past (on occasion) that when I've given an answer that was correct, but not what the poster wanted to hear, I only got a few points. But later on, someone posts a wrong answer, but more like what they wanted to hear, and they got more points.

Or, I've posted the answer to a question and get maybe 4 points, and then someone else just basically repeats the same answer, and they get 9 points!

Well, that's just part of the fun of being in this forum... :-) :-)
