SSH support for RP3440/RP4440 MP-console ports

Can you tell me if/when HP will support connecting to the MP-console port on RP3440/RP4440 servers via ssh. as well support of sftp.

Hi,

AFAIK the MP is supporting ssh.
But this you need to purchase a licence and enable the ssh.

Version E.03.15:
New Licensed Advanced Features:
- Secure Shell (SSH) access to the iLO MP
SSH Clients may be used for access to iLO MP providing
secure encrypted data across the network. Users may
authenticate in SSH using their normal configured
username and password.




What should be the use of sftp?

The ftp is only need for a MP firmware upgrade - it should be enough to enable an external ftp server while upgrading.

But you don't really need it - you can update via patch, e.g. PHSS_33096 for 11.23
