Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

Hello,

We have a rp3440 HP-UX machine which had a error. This error is solved but the system led is still RED.
How can I turn-off the red ligth?

Re: Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

HI Vreriks,

Tell the led is Amber or Red.IF its amber go to mp see the Sl.The amber led will off.If its red some hardware issues are there.Suppose if u have resolved the issues still its glowing means u have to make a reboot

Re: Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

Hi Marcel,

Logon to GSP

Select SL
Select E (to check the logs)
Select Q (quit)
Select X (Exit)

The LED must now be green

Re: Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

Hi Marcel,

1. Login to MP with Admin/Admin
MP> SL>
E - System Event
F - Forward Progress
B - Current Boot
P - Previous Boot
C - Clear All Logs

Readd System events or Press "C" to clear All logs, after this your all LED's will be green.

Re: Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

Hi,

in some rare cases, it may be that the LED stays on although the log entry is read and the error condition is cleared.
In some cases a reset of the BMC helps ("rb" on the MP in cm> mode, can be done online with OS running) but sometimes the LED will only be turned off after a powercycle (AC power cable unplugged).
This issue will be fixed in future firmware versions.

best regards

Right to above two or three. This attention light is a message for you to look at the GSP logs. Follow the above steps and it will go off. A reboot should not be necessary.

Checking GSP logs and acknowledging them will solve the issue.
Let me confirm this RED led is on server not on the disk.

Re: Turn-off red sytem LED to normal

1. RP34x0 maintenance guide says as follows.
The fault condition for system alerts of level 7 is cleared by resolving the problem and cycling power. Refer to the SL error logs for additional error information.

2. Reading the MP SEL cannot clear system RED led. It only clears the system yellow (Attention) LED.

3. I do not suggest you will reset BMC while the system is up and running. And it does not clear the system RED LED.

4. If you have cycled the AC input power and the RED LED still blinks, I highly suggest you will check the MP SEL again to see if it logs any critical entries.
