now my server runs well,but i want to know it does matter or not? and i am puzzle that why the cpu 2's state is idle while cpu 0 is active?

SolutionThe second CPU is idle, because it has nothing to do at the moment (OS not running yet).
The first is monarch.

I would not be comfy running a system like that. I've got extensive experience with the rp54xx line when I say that.
Have HP hardware come on in and either deal with this or give you something in writing that says it doesn't matter.
That status screen is probably not very meaningful, the CPU is most certainly there and working when the system is running the OS .

Ive seen this many times and never had any issues with it.
even from the PA8500 and 8600's aswell, they run fine with diferrrent revision cpu's.
I bet they all have the same start part number aswell, but the lower revision will be -04001 and the newer -04002 probably.
As torsten said, you are only at PDC so running only on one cpu at the moment. Boot into HPUX and you will start to use both.
