Using perl.cgi programs to connect to an HPe3000 to access Image database tables

I am trying to create a web based reporting system using Perl CGI programs to connect to an HPe3000 to access a set of Image database tables.  We currently have an application written in Pascal (several thousand programs actually) but I haven't been able to divine the actual code used to connect to the HP. 

We're using ODBC/HP but I'm having an issue setting up the connection code in the Perl program.  It's producing an error

ERR  [911] [] "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application" DSN=[HPConnect]

Any information that would help would certainly be appreciated.
