HP 3800 Silkworm Brocade switch fans

I have HP 3800 Silkworm brocade switches and one is indicating Fan #4 failure. I cannot find a hardware manual for it to find where Fan #4 is located in the brocade switch to replace it. I need to order the part myself since HP does not support them as of Sep 09. Any help on a hardware guide for this HP 3800 Silkworm brocade switch with Fan locations would be greatly appreciated.

Fan #1 is OK, speed is 9600 RPM
Fan #2 is OK, speed is 9780 RPM
Fan #3 is OK, speed is 9450 RPM
Fan #4 is below minimum, speed is 0 RPM
switch3:admin> exit

A small tie wrap or a straw is a good (audible) fan speed indicator. (good fans will buzz when you test with a straw) It appears the fan is part of a fan module. Hardware manuals do exist but apparently not for viewing or download.

Please open a ticket with vedor ASAP. You have to replace the FAN.

There are 2 Fan Trays/Assemblies on the back of the switch. Each fan assembly contains 2 fans. The assemblies are hot-swappable if replaced one at a time.

1. The fan assembly on the right contains fans #1 and #2
2. The fan assembly on the left contains fans #3 and #4

Thank you that answered my question as to which side fan 4 was located and that is what I needed to know. I have ordered a new fan tray to replace the bad one.

Knowing that they were fan trays and that the one on the right had fans 1&2 and the one on the left had fans 3&4 is what I needed to know. Thanks!
